🪵 Handcrafted Solid Teak Cutting Board

This solid teak cutting board with wrought iron handles is handmade one at a time by Mike using premium teak wood, known for its natural moisture resistance, durability and longevity. The substantial wrought iron handles add strength and timeless rustic character to the board.

🌿 Why Teak Wood Is Ideal for the Kitchen

Teak naturally contains oils that make it:

• Less prone to cracking or splitting

• Naturally resistant to bacteria compared to many hardwoods

✨ Raised-Grain Sanding Process

Most cutting boards feel smooth at first, until they’re washed.

To help prevent that rough, fuzzy surface, this board is finished using a raised-grain sanding process:

• Hand sanded

• Lightly sprayed with water to intentionally raise the grain

• Sanded again after the grain lifts

• Finished to 400-grit for a soft, velvet-smooth feel

This extra finishing process helps the board maintain its smooth surface through normal use and cleaning.

This board features substantial wrought iron handles that complement the warmth and natural grain of the teak beautifully. The sturdy handles provide a secure, comfortable grip and make the board easy to lift, carry and serve while adding rustic, handcrafted character.

🧴 Premium Food-Safe Finish

Each board is finished by hand with patience and care:

• Two heavy coats of Walrus Oil

• Allowed to soak for 8 hours between coats

• Finished with our handmade board butter

Our board butter is made using 100% food-safe mineral oil and beeswax and is also available separately in our shop. All finishes used on the board are food-safe.

🧼 Care Instructions

Hand wash only and dry promptly. Re-oil occasionally using food-safe mineral oil or board butter to help maintain the beauty and condition of the wood.

Each board is handcrafted by Mike from solid teak in our Smoky Mountain workshop. Natural variations in grain, color and markings are part of the beauty of real wood and ensure that no two boards will be exactly alike. Please allow 1–7 days for your board to be handcrafted, finished and prepared for shipment.
